Picking the right school for your kids

Standard

children_school

Location, Location, Location! The number one rule of real estate- especially if you have kids.

Picking the school that is perfect for your family can be just as important as finding your dream home. Particularly, now that zoning rules apply and open enrollment is no longer a possibility.  Homes in neighborhoods that have successful, high ranking schools are sought after and depreciate less than neighborhoods with unsuccessful schools. A great elementary school prepares your child for future successes, and plays a large impact in social, emotional and developmental growth.

Needless to say, when looking for a home for your family, finding an area accommodating to the school you want is important.

Luckily, in Nevada we have plenty of 4 and 5 star schools.

How does your school rank?

Listed below are the 5 star schools in Clark County.

Beautification in North Vegas

Standard

web1_PRETTYBOARDS_020614CS_002

10 Homes are to be covered in art in the North Vegas area as part of a new beautification project.  The abandoned homes are part of a pilot program loosely based on Cincinnati’s “Future Blooms” Program.

The artist, Marcus Tracy, will use desert landscape as his inspiration to create murals on boards that will be used to cover walls, broken windows and other eyesores in the neighborhood.

The intention of this project is to ward off squatters and revitalize neighborhoods.  Unemployed artists also get an opportunity to showcase their work to a large audience.

This program costs approximately $2,000-$3,000 per home and has a budget of $16,550 for the first group.  This particular project is located in the neighborhood near Charleston Boulevard and North Pecos Rd.
